Fulltime Permanent Position
To qualify this position, you will have
· AQF Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology or relevant/equivalent qualification or relevant experience.
· Minimum 3 years’ relevant industry experience (painting truck bodies)
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills
- Large-scale preparation of truck bodies for painting including sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders
- Treating truck bodies with rust -proofing chemicals
- Applying primer and finish coats with spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats
- Removing making papers, and waxing and polishing finished paintwork
- Strong knowledge of paint type, application techniques and colour matching
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes
- Meticulous masking of intricate commercial vehicles to ensure clean lines over large, complex shapes
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and follow strict safety protocols
- Mechanical knowledge of trucks an advantage
- Forklift license an advantage
$75,000 to $80,000 per annum depending on experience plus superannuation.
Remuneration will reflect current market conditions and industry award rates. To be discussed with the successful applicant.
