PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Assist the Site Manager with all daily activities related to the farm operations to achieve optimal performance across the farm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and actively support the implementation of the Hazeldene’s Quality Policy and quality systems.
- Work to verbal and/or written instructions provided by the Site Manager
- Undertake or reorganise any work procedure as directed by the Site Manager or as deemed necessary, in the absence of a member of staff.
- Coordination and organisation of work teams, scheduling rosters and training staff under instruction from management
- Assist in managing records, interpreting results and assisting with the appropriate action, to ensure that production of eggs is of the highest quality
- Ensure that farm operating procedures are cost effective whilst meeting operational guidelines.
- Ensure all farm administration is performed to Hazeldene’s guidelines, including the completion of all relevant reports and documentation. Such paperwork to be completed within the required timeframes as set out from site Manager.
- Undertake basic repairs and maintenance of sheds and facilities to ensure appropriate and optimal operation. Premises and surrounding amenities to be well maintained and good Housekeeping in order.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Safe Work Practises. Support and implement the Company’s Occupational Health & Safety Policy – support employees/ work groups to ensure area is incident/ accident free.
- Perform all work in a safe manner and proactively report any incidents and/or hazards.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will provide operational coverage across both the Laanecoorie and Boyds Road Farms. The successful candidate will be required to work weekends as part of the regular roster and participate in alarm and emergency call out coverage as required by operational needs.
Accommodation at the Laanecoorie house may be available as part of the overall employment package for the successful candidate.
