Full Job Description

Work Zone Solutions, a subsidiary of the Jaybro Group, specialises in high-performance barrier systems, focusing on safety, innovation, and sustainability. Our products include concrete barriers, steel barriers, plastic barriers, crash cushions, anti-gawk screens and hostile vehicle mitigation systems.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our team full-time at our Arndell Park, NSW office.

Reporting to the Freight & Logistics Coordinator, the Purchasing Officer is responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for the organisation.

The role is vital in maintaining positive vendor relationships, optimising inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

Please note travel may be required from time to time to visit our interstate branches.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with relevant departments to identify purchasing needs and develop procurement plans.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and maintain a qualified supplier base.
Analyse and assess supplier proposals, quotations, and bids to determine the best value for the organisation.
Generate purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery terms.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely order processing, shipment, and delivery of goods and services.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication and prompt resolution of any issues or disputes.
Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to optimise stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify obsolete or excess inventory and implement appropriate disposition strategies.
Implement inventory control measures, such as regular stock counts and analysis of consumption patterns.
Managing & maintaining data in ERP – Product/Supplier data, reorder settings, etc.
Coordinate with freight forwarders (international shipping) for product deliveries

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain
Knowledge or experience with SAP S4/HANA
Intermediate to Advanced Excel
Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure
A flexible & adaptable attitude
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
