We're seeking someone to fill an ongoing casual position focused on providing companionship and social interaction to a participant. The role involves building a positive connection and helping create a relaxed and supportive environment.
The role involves both in-home and out-of-home activities. Out-of-home activities may include accompanying the participant to restaurants, cafes, shopping centres, and other recreational activities. In-home activities may include helping prepare meals and snacks and providing a relaxed and supportive environment.
The ideal applicant is someone who is positive, open-minded, and finds fulfilment in making a genuine difference in the lives of others. They will be warm, attentive, and able to build a close connection with the participant. They will also have their own hobbies and interests they enjoy sharing. Whether that's fitness, reading, sport, gaming, cooking, music, or other interests, they're able to contribute to engaging conversations and shared activities.
Shift times can be flexible, making this role well suited to university students with varying class schedules.
Applicants should include a cover letter introducing themselves, outlining their current work or study situation, what their day-to-day life looks like, and the hobbies and interests they enjoy.
This role differs from a typical NDIS Support Worker position and is focused on companionship, social interaction, and shared activities.
