Kitchen Assistant

Location: Adelaide Hills, South Australia

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team and help maintain the high standards that define the Red Cacao experience.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our kitchen, supporting food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organisation, and assisting the pastry and kitchen team as required.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work, and is keen to develop their skills within a quality-focused food business.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks.
Prepare ingredients and support production activities as directed.
Wash dishes, utensils, equipment, and kitchen tools.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen and preparation areas.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Support stock rotation and storage procedures.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient daily operations.
Assist with packing, presentation, and preparation of products when required.

About You

You are dependable, hardworking, and take pride in maintaining a clean and organised workspace.

You enjoy being part of a team, are willing to learn, and have a positive attitude toward supporting others to achieve great results.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality, food production, or café environment is preferred but not essential.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices is desirable.
