Design & Engineering
CPP has the largest in-house design and engineering team of any contractor in Australia, with over 190 specialists across Electrical Primary and Secondary, Civil, Structural, and SCADA disciplines. We provide end-to-end engineering solutions for high-voltage infrastructure, including nationally significant transmission projects, HV substations, wind farms and battery storage systems that drive Australia’s renewable energy transition.
Our engineers work closely with construction and operations teams, ensuring designs are practical, constructible, and continually refined through real-world feedback. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, we deliver solutions that support a stable, reliable, and sustainable energy future.
The Opportunity
CPP continues to secure some of Australia's largest renewable energy and utility infrastructure projects, creating an exciting opportunity for a Design Drafter – Transmission Lines to join our growing engineering team.
Working alongside experienced engineers and designers, you'll produce high-quality transmission line drawings and design documentation that support the successful delivery of nationally significant transmission and renewable energy projects. Your work will contribute to the infrastructure connecting Australia's future energy network.
Joining one of Australia's most experienced in-house engineering teams, you'll have the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, collaborate with industry experts and continue developing your technical skills in a supportive, collaborative environment where your contribution is genuinely valued.
Skills and Experiences:
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Structural or mechanical design/drafting experience
Experience in the utilities or renewable energy industry (highly regarded but not essential)
Proficiency with drafting software, with the ability to interpret and apply design information from key stakeholders with the end user in mind
Relevant tertiary studies (favourable but not essential)
A trade background complemented by recent studies or drafting experience (highly desirable)
