We are seeking an experienced Full Time Sous Chef with a demonstrated passion for the food industry.

First and foremost is a strong team player, being creative, striving to improve and self motivated.
You have a minimum qualification of Diploma in Hospitality Management/ Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
You have a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
You must have flexibility for a 7 day roster, including split shifts.
You are calm during peak periods.
You will have a genuine desire to contribute towards the success of 1918 Bistro & Grill.
Key Tasks:
- To ensure all stock is kept under optimum conditions
- To ensure all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time
- To ensure all dishes are prepared to the correct recipe and the correct quantity
- To ensure all dishes reach the passe correctly garnished, the correct portion and size, presented on the correct serving dish in the prescribed manner
- To keep his/her section clean and tidy at all times
- To ensure junior chef’s and apprentice’s receive the correct training and optimum guidance
- To ensure that any anticipated shortages are communicated promptly to the Head Chef
- To ensure all staff are treated fairly and with courtesy
- To deputise in the Head Chef absence and take charge of the kitchen when directed to do so
- Attend training courses when required
- Work closely with the 1918 Bistro & Grill management team to ensure awareness of initiatives and to receive customer feedback.
- Represent 1918 Bistro & Grill as a brand ambassador in all external and internal relationships.
- Conducts all administrative work required
- Attends and contributes to the departmental meetings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $79,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
