The Towards Zero Suicides (TZS) Service offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful, life-changing work, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care grounded in recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice. In this role, you’ll make a tangible difference by supporting people at some of their most vulnerable moments, while helping shape a more connected and responsive mental health system.

Working within a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll be empowered to bring your expertise, initiative, and passion for mental health to a collaborative environment that truly values innovation and clinical excellence.

This position involves evening and weekend shifts, typically Friday to Monday (11:30am – 8:00pm), with an additional shift on Thursday (8:30am – 5:00pm). Applicable penalty rates apply.

As a pool clinician, you’ll begin by supporting one of our teams to fill a current vacancy. As new opportunities arise across our mental health services, you may be offered the chance to transition to other teams—providing you with valuable experience and exposure across the diverse services within SWSLHD Community Mental Health. Future roles may become available at Ingleburn, Bankstown, Campbelltown, Ambarvale, Liverpool, Fairfield, and Wollondilly.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

Relevant qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or CSU Graduates: Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health).
Please provide a detailed statement outlining your interest in and motivation for applying for this role. Highlight your relevant skills and experience in the assessment and treatment of consumers within mental health services, and how these align with the goals of the TZS initiative.
Using a specific example, describe a time you worked collaboratively as part of a team to address a complex problem. Outline the communication strategies you used, your contribution to the outcome, and the steps taken to ensure the issue was resolved and prevented from recurring.
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P. Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
