About our team
GrainCorp connects more than 10,000 grain growers with local and international customers via Australia’s largest silo network, with a storage capacity of over 20 million tonnes, seven bulk port elevators and two specialty port terminals. Innovation, integration and partnership are the foundations on which we are growing into our second century with customers at the heart of all that we do.

About the role
As our Roma West Assistant Site Manager, you'll work closely with the Site Manager and a great team of permanent Grain Handlers to help deliver a safe, smooth and efficient service in receiving, storing and outloading grain by both road and rail.

Alongside a variety of hands-on grain handling tasks that keep our operation moving, you will also:

Coordinate day-to-day workflow of the team and support to attract, select, train, and develop permanent and casual team members
Develop and maintain relationships with growers, customers, local community groups and internal stakeholders
Support the resource planning for grain receival / outload activity during peak and off-peak periods
Support the planning and execution of scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance, grain protection, safety and quality activities and related reporting
Supervise a large seasonal workforce during our busy harvest intake periods, including at multiple sites.

About your experience
Our ideal candidate has plant operations experience gained in any industry, a strong safety mindset, and a genuine desire to make a positive contribution to the thriving agricommodities industry. You should also have:

Some experience in supervising/leading teams (or the potential to)
Previous grain handling experience
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast paced operational environment
