Hours: 38 hours per week
Salary: $83200 – $98200 per annum plus superannuation

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Trecs Electrical Pty Ltd is a Queensland-based electrical contracting company providing high-quality domestic, commercial and industrial electrical services throughout Brisbane, Rockhampton and surrounding regions. The company specialises in electrical installations, maintenance, communications and data cabling, air conditioning installations, security systems, switchboard upgrades, lighting solutions and electrical services for new construction and refurbishment projects. Trecs Electrical is committed to delivering safe, reliable and efficient electrical solutions while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and customer service.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Electrician is responsible for installing, testing, commissioning, maintaining, repairing and modifying electrical systems, equipment and wiring for domestic, commercial and industrial clients. The role ensures all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with Australian Standards, statutory requirements and company procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrician will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Installing, testing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, switchboards, lighting systems and electrical installations.
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications and technical documentation to determine installation requirements.
Measuring, marking out and installing electrical wiring, conduits, cables and associated equipment.
Connecting electrical systems, switchboards, distribution boards and equipment to power supplies.
Testing electrical installations using specialised testing equipment to verify safety, functionality and compliance with Australian Standards.
Diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out repairs or replacing defective wiring, equipment and components.
Installing and commissioning communications cabling, data cabling, security systems, smoke alarms and associated electrical equipment.
Installing electrical components associated with air conditioning systems in accordance with applicable licensing requirements.
Performing preventative and reactive maintenance on domestic, commercial and industrial electrical systems.
Conducting switchboard upgrades, lighting upgrades, power installations and electrical fit-outs for new and existing buildings.
Ensuring all work complies with the Electrical Safety Act, relevant Australian Standards, workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.
Liaising with clients, builders, project managers and other trades to coordinate works and ensure projects are completed on time.
Completing job documentation, testing records, compliance certificates and service reports accurately.
Maintaining tools, equipment and company vehicles in a safe and serviceable condition.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent recognised qualification).
Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence.
Minimum three (3) years' relevant post-qualification experience as an Electrician.
Demonstrated experience undertaking domestic, commercial and industrial electrical installations and maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
Sound knowledge of the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and relevant Australian Standards.
Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

Restricted or unrestricted Air Conditioning Licence.
Open Cabling Registration.
Experience installing data and communications cabling.
Experience installing CCTV, security and access control systems.
Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Working at Heights, CPR/LVR and White Card certifications.

Pay: $83,200.00 – $98,200.00 per year
