Albert Road GP & Women’s Clinic is a modern, well-located practice in South Melbourne, just off St Kilda Road and easily accessible by public transport. The Shrine of Remembrance is nearby for a peaceful walk before your shift or during a break, and there are plenty of excellent cafés close by.
We are a comprehensive general practice providing care across all stages of life, with a particular focus on women’s health, pregnancy and family care. This position is primarily rostered across weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as Saturdays, making it well suited to someone specifically seeking work outside standard weekday business hours.
About the role
Usual duties and responsibilities include:
- Opening and closing the clinic
- Being a positive first point of encounter for patients and clinicians
- Assist with and respond to patient enquiries in a helpful and friendly way reflecting the practice as a quality, customer service-focused medical clinic
- Provide administrative support to GPs and allied health practitioners
- Registering and updating patient details in Best Practice
- Booking and altering appointments in Best Practice
- Processing payment and Medicare rebates
- General cleaning, restocking of doctors rooms with medical supplies
- Understand and maintain clinic confidentiality and patient privacy requirements
- Liaise with other clinics and medical specialists to coordinate care and obtain patient records
- Demonstrate high attention to detail when dealing with patient, clinic and billing information

The successful candidate will have the following specific skills and knowledge required for the job:
- Experience in Medical Reception is preferred
- Best Practice experience is preferred
- HotDoc online booking platform experience
- An understanding of common Medicare items used in general practice and how Medicare billing works
