About Bluestone
Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd is Australia’s largest Tin producer. Bluestone is a well-established, high yield tin producer with a strong resource base supporting a mine life in excess of 10 years. The Renison mine is located on Tasmania’s beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.

Renison is currently experiencing an exciting phase of development, characterised by a robust "Life of Mine Plan" and an ongoing commitment to capital reinvestment. This strategic approach is designed to enhance health, safety, environmental sustainability, and operational efficiency. About the role
As part of the 12-week Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Vacation Student Program, you will gain hands-on exposure to underground and surface mining while working within experienced and supportive teams committed to your development.
This program is designed for students studying Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Core responsibilities
- Gain valuable underground and surface experience across maintenance and planning crews.
- Actively participate as a member of the maintenance team
- Follow safety protocols and standards while working collaboratively to ensure safety requirements are fulfilled.
About you
You will be a motivated student in your 3rd or 4th year of a Maintenance Engineering tertiary qualification in Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
You will apply your classroom knowledge to gain invaluable hands-on experience.
You will need to have a C Class driver’s licence and be comfortable to work in a team environment, whilst demonstrating strong communication and organisational skills enabling you to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Bluestone Mines Tasmania offers free accommodation inclusive of meals whilst on shift. Interstate candidates are encouraged to apply and will be provided flights at commencement and completion of vacation period along with accommodation and meals for the duration.
