To support our growing asset base, we are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer to join our field based team. This role will initially be based in Miles and be part of the start-up of our exciting new Girrahween Field Compression Station and wellfield.
The Role: Reporting to the Operations Manager, purpose of the role is to focus on supporting safe, stable and reliable day-to-day operations through strong field engagement and rapid response to operational issues. It is to provide practical frontline operational engineering support with a strong emphasis on short-term operational process safety, delivery, troubleshooting and operational stability.
In addition, you will:
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to consistently role model Arrow’s values, code of conduct, safety and the environment.
- Establish positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Model inclusive behaviours to create a safe environment where different views and perspectives are encouraged and valued.
- Providing immediate engineering support to resolve operational and process issues impacting production or reliability.
- Supporting management of short-term operational and process safety risks, including degraded barriers and abnormal operating conditions;
- Leading troubleshooting and root cause identification for plant upsets, equipment failures and recurring operational issues
- Supporting safe implementation of brownfield modifications and operational changes within live operating environments
- Driving short-term production optimisation and reducing operational constraints affecting throughput and plant performance
- Providing visible field leadership and technical coaching to operators and supervisors to support sound operational decision making.
About You
You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to contribute to a high performing-team with a second-to-none focus on safety and integrity.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- Qualifications: Engineering degree in a relevant discipline
- ~5 years Oil and/or Gas industry experience in a similar or related position, preferably in unconventional coal seam gas (CSG) environment.
- Highly developed ability to analyse, problem solve, think and interpret issues across different disciplines and flexibly to achieve goals.
- Exceptional communication, with the ability to foster longstanding relationships with key stakeholders and liaise with all levels of staff.
- Organisation and project management skills, ability to manage minor projects from concept through to execution.
- Ability to show leadership, work independently as well as work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to travel to site and adjust work patterns to provide coverage as needed.
