- Permanent part-time - Weekend shifts
- 1 -2 weekend shifts per fortnight (8-16 hours per fortnight)
- Supportive Team Culture - Thrive in an employee-owned, caring organisation
AES Jindalee is a well-established emergency and critical care hospital providing life-saving treatment across a wide variety of cases, from GDVs and tick paralysis to snake bites.
We’re looking for a Veterinary Nurse to join our emergency team on a permanent part-time basis, working one weekend, Saturday and Sunday, per fortnight. With the option of 8 to 16 hours per fortnight, this is a great opportunity for someone looking for a smaller permanent commitment, returning to work after parental leave, or wanting to return to ECC nursing.
Why Join Us?
- You’ll work alongside an experienced and supportive team of emergency vets and nurses, with exposure to a varied and interesting ECC caseload.
- Our dedicated client care team manages financial discussions, allowing you to focus on what matters most, patient care.
- You’ll receive supported training with experienced mentors and buddies to help you settle into the team and hospital.
- The consistent weekend roster provides a great work life balance and could be particularly suited to someone looking to return to ECC or ease back into veterinary nursing.
About You
We’re looking for a confident and capable Veterinary Nurse who enjoys emergency and critical care and can work effectively in a busy hospital environment.
You’ll have:
- A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.
- Previous ECC nursing experience is preferred, although strong GP nursing experience with good emergency skills will also be considered.
- Confidence working in a busy emergency hospital, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transport and availability to work Saturday and Sunday shifts including nights on a fortnightly basis.
What We Offer
- An hourly rate from $32.13 plus shift penalties, with rates ranging from $47 to $84 per hour depending on the shift.
- Significant discounts on pet treatments and products.
- Access to Fitness Passport.
- Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program support.
- Wellbeing initiatives.
- Career development opportunities across leadership, specialisation and management.
- Opportunities for internal progression and transfers.
- A supportive and experienced emergency team.
- The opportunity to work for an independently employee-owned business.
If you’re looking for a consistent weekend ECC role with a supportive team and the opportunity to maintain or return to emergency nursing, we’d love to hear from you.
