The Role
Jarrah House is a small residential drug and alcohol treatment facility supporting the rehabilitation of women. Children under the age of 5 can attend the program with their mother.
We are looking for an Enrolled Nurse to work on a rotating roster basis to cover a rotating roster across morning, afternoon and night shifts, 7 days a week. This is a casual, part-time or full-time position.
The Enrolled Nurse works collaboratively within the clinical team, alongside Registered Nurses, counsellors, AOD workers and other team members, to support the detoxification, rehabilitation and primary health care needs of Jarrah House residents.
Key accountabilities for the role include:

Contributing to the provision of a safe and supportive environment for detoxification, withdrawal and rehabilitation
- Administering nursing care within the EN scope of practice, including medication administration and monitoring and responding to risks
- Contributing to intake, assessment and discharge processes
- Contributing to handover and case review
- Supporting access to general health information and services, including attending external appointments/activities with clients
- Maintaining accurate and timely data in client records

About You
This role is suited to someone who is collaborative, reliable and genuinely committed to empowering women during detoxification and rehabilitation, and who works well as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
You'll bring:

Qualifications and experience as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2)
- Experience or interest in mental health and/or AOD nursing
- Sound judgment in recognising when to escalate
- Experience maintaining client records and applying policies and procedures
- An ability to maintain professional boundaries when supporting vulnerable people
Essential Requirements

Registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2), on the AHPRA Register of Practitioners
- Identify as a woman - we have an exemption from sections 25 and 51 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 to advertise, designate and recruit women only in all positions that work directly with, or are in regular contact with clients
- COVID-19 and whooping cough vaccinations
- The right to work in Australia
- Valid Class C Driver's Licence and willingness to drive for work
- Criminal Record Check clearance
- Working with Children Check clearance

What We Do
Jarrah House is the residential rehabilitation location for the Women's Alcohol and Drug Advisory Centre Incorporated (WADAC), a Non-Government Organisation providing services in withdrawal management, rehabilitation and individual and group counselling, and services to improve the wellbeing and health outcomes of families and carers, and the people they support.
The voluntary admission Residential Rehabilitation Centre in South-East Sydney, Jarrah House, is a place of care and compassion for women experiencing drug and alcohol dependence. A 'women's only service', it is one of a small group of restricted-entry services and the only one in NSW providing in-house residential withdrawal management and Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) participation with dependent children also in residence.
