Scenic Rim Veterinary Service is a progressive, purpose-built equine and mixed practice located in Beaudesert, the heart of Southeast Queensland’s thoroughbred and performance horse country. As one of our seasonal Veterinarians, you will play a vital role in managing the reproductive health of large thoroughbred broodmare farms, working closely with our experienced team of vets, including 2 board certified surgeons, focusing on all aspects of stud medicine.
- Primary Veterinary Management of large broodmare farms. Working closely with clients to develop and implement breeding programs.
- Conduct reproductive evaluations (ultrasound exams, diagnostic tests, etc.) to manage breeding and reproductive cycles for mares.
- Provide expert advice on breeding management
- May include some artificial insemination and embryo transfer.
Assist with foaling and post-foaling care for mares and foals.
Participate in the clinic’s on call roster for emergency and routine care.
- Degree in Veterinary Science/Medicine, with full qualification eligible to practice in Queensland, Australia.
- At least 5 seasons of experience in equine reproduction, with expertise in thoroughbred mare breeding, foetal twin reduction, placental scanning/monitoring, etc.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong independent work ethic with good time management skills.
- A strong passion for stud medicine and thoroughbred racing is preferred.
- A client focused approach with excellent communication skills.
- Passion for equine reproduction and high standard veterinary care.
- A renowned stud medicine and reproduction service, with AI, embryo transfer, semen collection, and stallion facilities.
- Full surgical facilities managing approximately 1,000 general anaesthetic surgeries annually, including orthopaedic, ophthalmology, reproductive, respiratory, and gastrointestinal cases.
- Advanced diagnostics: ultrasound, digital radiography, video endoscopy, gastroscopy, laparoscopy, and in-house lab.
- Comprehensive ambulatory services for routine and emergency care, backed by 24/7 availability.

Scenic Rim Veterinary Service, located in Beaudesert, Queensland, is a well-established practice that serves a wide range of equine clients, specialising in large thoroughbred studs, sport horses, and companion horses.
