Coastal Dental Care has looked after local families since 2005, and has grown to 12 practices across Northern NSW, the Gold Coast, and south of Brisbane. Together with our dental labs and specialist clinics, we are a wider group of 18 sites, so there is always someone to learn from. Our Mudgeeraba practice is your local family dentist, right in the Mudgeeraba Marketplace and led by Principal Dentist Dr Alison Downes: a modern, friendly clinic where the team genuinely enjoys working together and patients are treated like neighbours.
This is a full-time Dental Assistant role at our Mudgeeraba practice. You will work right beside our dentists through every appointment, keeping the day running smoothly: rooms ready, instruments sterile, patients comfortable. You will know what each clinician needs before they ask, keep the sterilisation room running like clockwork, and help every patient feel at ease from the moment they sit down. Our clinic is set up with modern tech, including digital X-rays and intraoral cameras, so you will work with good gear every day.
Monday 7:30am - 6:15pm 1 hour break
Wednesday 7:30am - 5:30pm 30-minute break
Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm 30-minute break
Friday 7:30am - 5:15pm 30-minute break
- Assist chairside across a full range of dental procedures, anticipating what each clinician needs
- Set up and turn over treatment rooms, instruments, and materials to protocol
- Run the sterilisation room: clean, package, sterilise, store, and keep accurate digital records
- Welcome, seat, and reassure patients so they feel comfortable throughout their visit
- Help with charting, digital X-rays, and preparing post-treatment instructions
- Keep surgery stock topped up and flag anything that needs ordering
- Pitch in at reception and across the team when the day calls for it
- Some experience in a healthcare or customer-facing role
- A solid understanding of infection control and sterilisation protocols, or a genuine eagerness to develop them
- Clear, warm communication with patients and team members
- Ability to prioritise, manage your time, and work well in a team
- Professional presentation and up-to-date immunisations
- At least 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Working knowledge of Dental4Windows (D4W)
- Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting, or the willingness to work towards one
- Experience with reception or front-desk duties
