About the role

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll be responsible for administering all aspects of the payroll process for Australian Retirement Trust and ensuring the payroll is completed on time with a high degree of accuracy.

Day to day, you'll:

Ensure all payroll related functions are carried out efficiently.
Ensure proper maintenance and availability of payroll system.
Meet all statutory compliance requirements as dictated by various governing bodies.
Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality payroll service through the efficient, timely and accurate processing of payroll information and variations.
Respond to employee enquiries and provide timely and accurate advice on payroll administration matters.
Ensure compliance with statutory and organisational requirements through adherence to relevant processes and controls.
Participate in process improvement and system enhancement initiatives in Finance and Tax and broader Finance and Strategy projects.

This role is available as a 12-month fixed-term contract.

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

Experience using Oracle Payroll System.
Extensive experience in payroll and/or payroll administration.
Demonstrated knowledge of payroll and HR administration concepts, principles, practices and procedures.
Experience in administering an in-house payroll function.
Knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of relevant Awards and Agreements.
Strong attention to detail with ability to carry out duties with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a team, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to take on
additional responsibilities as needed.
Experience in the preparation of ad-hoc payroll reports.
Advanced customer service skills including the ability to foster strong work relationships both internally and externally.
