Centre Manager | Riverhills

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced, values‑driven Centre Manager to lead our 52 place Riverhills centre. This full‑time role is ideal for a confident leader who enjoys working within a smaller, close‑knit service , brings strong operational capability, and is passionate about building stable teams, high‑quality practice, and meaningful relationships with children and families.

You’ll work in partnership with an Educational Leader and be supported by Journey’s broader leadership and operational support teams. The role has a strong focus on people leadership, quality outcomes, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Tucked beneath tall trees in a quiet Riverhills street, our 52‑place centre offers a calm, nurturing environment from nursery to kindergarten. Our passionate educators create a true home away from home, where wellbeing, connection and nature-based learning are at the heart of every day. Children slow down around the fire, explore the hills and engage all their senses in natural surroundings. Supported by an inspiring leadership team, educators are encouraged to grow and build their careers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the daily operations of the centre, ensuring compliance with the NQF and National Law

Maintain and strengthen high‑quality standards across education, care, and practice

Work collaboratively with the Educational Leader to support pedagogy and reflective practice

Build, lead, and develop an engaged, stable staff team

Foster strong relationships with families and the local community

Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for children and educators

About You

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Centre Manager (or strong Assistant Manager ready to step up)

Diploma in Early Childhood Education or higher (ACECQA‑recognised)

Must have completed National Child Safety Training

Strong understanding of compliance, quality improvement, and people leadership

Calm, confident, and values‑led leadership style

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Reliable availability for a full‑time leadership role
