We're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at Eagle Farm. About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting across the business while supporting operational leaders with accurate financial information and meaningful analysis.
This is a hands-on role offering plenty of variety within a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You'll be responsible for month-end reporting, statutory compliance, financial analysis, process improvement and partnering with stakeholders across multiple business units.
You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to finance projects, mentor junior team members and help drive continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close activities for assigned business units.
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting and performance analysis.
- Assist with consolidated reporting and statutory financial statements.
- Support budgeting, capital expenditure and work-in-progress reporting.
- Prepare BAS, FBT, payroll tax and other statutory compliance reporting.
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Liaise with external auditors and assist with audit preparation.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting systems.
- Provide day-to-day support to the business unit's site management/admin team.
- Coach and support junior finance team members.
About You
You'll be a proactive and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working collaboratively across the business while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
To be successful, you'll have:
- CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or Finance.
- Minimum three years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS and statutory reporting.
- Experience preparing BAS, payroll tax, FBT and other compliance obligations.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Pronto or NetSuite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities while meeting reporting deadlines.
