The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plasterer (Wall & Ceiling) to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in all aspects of interior and exterior plastering, a strong eye for finish quality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret job specifications, plans, and drawings to ensure work meets required standards
- Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, sanding, and applying bonding agents to ensure adhesion
- Mix plaster, render, and other materials to required consistency according to specifications
- Apply base coats, scratch coats, and finish coats to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces
- Install fibrous plaster products including cornices, ceiling roses, columns, and decorative features
- Set out and install plasterboard (drywall) systems, including framing, fixing, and finishing
- Apply texture finishes and render to internal and external surfaces
- Repair and patch damaged plaster, render, and plasterboard on existing structures
- Select and use appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for each task
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite in compliance with WHS legislation and site-specific safety requirements
- Liaise with site supervisors, builders, and other trades to coordinate workflow and meet project deadlines
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met prior to handover
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience
- Proficiency in both wet plastering and drywall/plasterboard systems
- Ability to work on residential, commercial, and renovation projects
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality finish
- Solid understanding of and commitment to workplace health and safety
- Valid driver's licence preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on site
