Full Job Description

We are looking for a passionate, responsible, and caring cook to join our team. If you enjoy preparing nutritious, healthy meals and need flexible part time hours, this opportunity could be perfect for you!
The centre is a 70-place family owned, well established facility in Thornbury.
The hours are permanent part time Monday to Friday between 4-5 hours a day. We do have some flexibility on the hours worked.
Experience working in an early education setting would be preferred but not essential.

Position Objectives: To plan and provide nutritional balanced meals for all children

Preparation of meals, including morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
To ensure food ordering is completed as required
To ensure Food Safety Plan requirements and documentation is maintained and up to date

Requirements for role:
Holds a food handling certificate and has experience with menu planning however we can organise training
Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety requirements
Knowledge and understanding of cooking for children with allergies, medical conditions and varying dietary requirements

Working with Children Check (employee)
Current First Aid and Anaphylaxis training

Mandated Child Safe Training
Excellent organisational and communication skills

Ability to work independently
Previous experience in an early education setting will be an advantage but not necessary
A Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
