Employment Type: Permanent Full Time or Part Time, minimum 24 hours per week up to 38 hours per week . Temporary roles are available to visa holders, with contracts issued in accordance with visa conditions. Visa holders will be considered where no suitable Australian citizen or permanent resident is identified.

Remuneration: $64.70 - $66.83 per hour+ 12% Superannuation + Salary Packaging

Play a key leadership role within Fairfield Emergency Department and help ensure patients receive safe, timely and effective care from the moment they enter the department. This is an opportunity to influence patient flow, strengthen clinical safety and contribute to the ongoing development of emergency care services.

Provide visible senior nursing leadership at the front of the Emergency Department.
Drive improvements in patient safety, patient experience and Emergency Department performance.
Coordinate strategies that support timely assessment, treatment and patient flow.
Work collaboratively with nursing, medical, patient flow and ambulance teams to deliver the best possible outcomes.

Build valuable experience that supports future senior clinical and nursing leadership opportunities.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of the employees specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
Describe a time when you provided senior clinical leadership in a busy Emergency Department environment to manage competing clinical and operational priorities. In your response, outline how you identified and addressed risks to patient safety, supported staff, and achieved positive outcomes for patients and the service.
Describe your understanding of Emergency Department patient flow and performance indicators, including Transfer of Care (TOC) and triage-to-treatment timeframes. Provide an example of how you have used this understanding to identify barriers, coordinate a response, and improve patient flow, patient safety or service performance.
