Nursing Experts Services Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Aged or Disabled Carer to support eligible DVA clients, veterans, people with disability, and clients with functional support needs across South Australia.
This role is focused on providing person-centred support in home and community settings. The successful applicant will assist clients to maintain independence, safely complete daily living activities, access the community, attend appointments, participate in social and recreational activities, and follow individual support plans.
This position is part of NES’s DVA veteran, disability and community support services. It is not a residential aged-care role.
Key duties include:
- Supporting eligible DVA clients, veterans and clients with disability or functional support needs in accordance with individual support plans
- Assisting clients with daily living activities, community access, appointments, social participation and recreational activities
- Supporting clients to maintain independence, dignity, choice and personal safety
- Assisting with mobility, transfers and personal support within the worker’s training and competency
- Observing and reporting changes in client wellbeing, behaviour, risks, support needs or home/community safety
- Maintaining accurate progress notes, shift notes and incident reports
- Following NES policies and procedures on privacy, safeguarding, infection control, manual handling, workplace health and safety, documentation and client dignity
- Working respectfully with clients, families, supervisors, DVA contacts, support coordinators and other service providers
- Supporting clients to build confidence, routine, social connection and independent living skills
Required skills and experience:
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, Aged Care or equivalent qualification is preferred
- At least 12 months of relevant care, disability support, community support or individual support experience is preferred
- Experience supporting DVA clients, veterans, people with disability, or clients with functional support needs will be highly regarded
- Ability to follow individual support plans and report changes in client wellbeing or risk
- Understanding of person-centred support, duty of care, safeguarding, privacy and professional boundaries
- Ability to maintain accurate progress notes and incident documentation
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one
- First Aid and CPR certificate preferred
- Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle preferred
About the role:
This is a full-time ongoing position based in South Australia. The successful applicant must be available to work across agreed NES service locations and comply with all NES policies, workplace requirements and client support procedures.
