Role Details:
Working as a Project Officer in a small, highly skilled team, you will operate in a diverse and intellectually stimulating environment to provide an effective and efficient claims service, across SA Health, for the classes of insurance managed in-house by Insurance Services team.
The role offers exposure to a broad range of complex insurance, claims management, governance and risk-rated matters, providing opportunities to collaborate with senior stakeholders, analyse data and support strategic decision-making.
The Project Officer will develop and maintain close working relationships with officers across SA Health, the South Australian Government Financing Authority (SAFA), Loss Assessors and health related Non-Government Organisation, to ensure effective delivery of Governance Advisory projects and SA Health’s Insurance Services.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Assist with the administration, development and review of SA Health’s insurance services functions managed the Insurance Services team.
Conduct an initial assessment of reported incidents, (hospital visitor, data breach) ensuring information is accurate and complete in all respects and advise the client on management of issues associated with incidents.
Conduct an initial assessment of reported claims, Property, Public Liability and Professional Indemnity and make claim determination.
Advise the client whether the incident is an approved claim under the insurance program and manage the claim through to completion.
Compile SA Health’s yearly questionnaire response to (SAFA), involving analysing data integrity and follow-up of submitted questionnaire returns by LHNs/SAAS/NGOs and briefing the CE for approval prior to submission to SAFA.
To be successful you will have:
The ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of individuals and organisations, including consumers, community or professional groups, departmental, Local government, and other State Government officers at varying levels and to exercise discretion in relation to sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.
The ability to research and gather information relevant to Insurance Services, and project development using analytical and investigative skills, and to draft high-quality briefings, minutes and reports.
Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills which contribute to the development of effective working relationships with a wide range of people, and which foster trust and cooperation.
Effective skills in time management, including the ability to organise workflow to determine priorities and meet deadlines while working with limited direction.
A strong commitment and demonstrated ability to maintain flexibility, contribute as a team member and value diversity.
Demonstrated ability to organise, implement and coordinate concurrent projects and to successfully manage programs and projects of some complexity.
Ability to interpret and understand policies and instructions.
