Psychologist (Children & Adolescents)
Full-time/ Part-time (minimum 3 days/week) Contractor
Calm Minds Clinic | Newcomb, Victoria
Looking for a role where you're encouraged to be yourself?
Do you genuinely enjoy working with children and young people? Can you seamlessly switch from discussing emotional regulation with a teenager to spending ten minutes debating whether a unicorn would make a good therapy animal?
Have you ever left work with glitter on your clothes, Play-Doh in your pocket, or a hand-drawn masterpiece that absolutely deserved a place on the office fridge?
If you're smiling already, we should probably talk.
About Us
At Calm Minds Clinic, we're passionate about helping children, adolescents, adults and families (literally everyone) access high-quality psychological care in an environment that feels welcoming, engaging and genuinely supportive.
We've created a purpose-built clinic in Newcomb, complete with a brand-new Sensory Centre, beautiful consulting rooms (with beanbags where you'll want to nap!), and a team that values kindness, collaboration and a good sense of humour just as much as clinical excellence.
We believe psychologists do their best work when they're trusted to work in a way that suits both them and their clients—not when they're chasing KPIs or watching a clock.
That's why we've built a practice where you can focus on what you trained to do: helping people.
The Role
We're looking for an AHPRA-registered Psychologist who enjoys working with children, adolescents and young adults (approximately 2–18 years).
You'll support young people experiencing presentations including, but not limited to:
ADHD
Autism
Anxiety
Emotional regulation difficulties
School refusal
Behavioural concerns
The role offers a combination of in-person and telehealth appointments (where you dictate (with your client) which works best), with flexibility to develop a diary that works for both you and your client.
If you have experience—or simply a genuine interest—in psychological assessments (including ADHD, Autism and cognitive assessments), we'd love to hear about it.
Assessment work is available but is not an expectation of the role.
We're Looking For Someone Who...
Is warm, approachable and naturally builds rapport with children, young people and families.
Enjoys working independently but also appreciates being part of a supportive team where ideas, laughter and clinical knowledge are shared freely.
Is neuroaffirming in your practice and committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care.
Doesn't panic if glitter somehow appears in your office.
Understands that therapy with children sometimes involves board games, Lego, drawing, sensory play—or discussing Pokémon with absolute seriousness.
Most importantly, you genuinely enjoy helping young people navigate some of life's biggest challenges.
