About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Planner to drive equipment reliability and maximise operational throughput across our gold processing facilities. You will be reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, and will own the end-to-end planning cycle for crushing, grinding (Ball Mills), leaching, and dewatering circuits.
Your primary focus is forward planning, scoping tasks, building comprehensive work packs, and ensuring parts and contractor resources are staged well before execution to reduce unplanned downtime.
Roles and Responsibilities
This roles responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Design, plan, introduce and champion the preventative and predictive maintenance schedule.
- Life cycle planning for all fixed plant ensuring all departments are consulted
- Operating and Capital budgets input for all future maintenance.
- Conduct field walks to define work order scopes, estimate labour hours, and determine required skills.
- Identify, order, and kit all parts, specialised tools, and materials before tasks are scheduled.
- Produce and circulate appropriate Maintenance KPIS and future plans.
- Manage the Computerised Maintenance Management System (PRONTO) to track work orders, backlog, asset history and stores inventory.
- Coordinate weekly maintenance schedules with Operations to align tasks with production windows, whilst maintaining high safety levels.
- Embed standard operating procedures, hazard assessments, and permit requirements into every work package.
- Analyse equipment history and maintenance costs to suggest improvements to the preventive maintenance program.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in gold processing maintenance planning, scheduling, or trade coordination.
- Must Have Statutory Supervisors Certificate (S26)
- A trade qualification in Mech Fitter/Boilermaker or technical degree advantageous.
- Confidence to challenge scope and verify work quality, ensuring standards and expectations are met.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule across multiple areas and disciplines.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the communication ability to work effectively across departments.
- High proficiency with CMMS platforms (PRONTO essential) and Microsoft platforms.
- Deep understanding of mechanical systems, industrial safety standards, and precision maintenance.
- Excellent time management and strong spatial visualisation.
- Ability to communicate with all levels across operation and external parties.
