Full Job Description

Wood Machinist (CNC) – Full Time, Permanent Intrim Group Pty Ltd
Picton, NSW. We are seeking an experienced Wood Machinist with advanced CNC machining capability to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis at our Picton manufacturing facility.

About the role This role involves manufacturing high-quality timber mouldings and architectural products using CNC and specialised moulding machinery in a production environment.

Key responsibilities

Operating and programming CNC woodworking machinery
Setting up and running multi-head moulders and profiling machines (e.g. Weinig or equivalent)
Tooling setup including cutter head configuration and knife changes
Interpreting technical drawings, profiles, and production specifications
Monitoring quality, tolerances, and production output
Maintaining a safe and compliant work environment

Skills and experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Wood Machinist in a production environment
Proven experience with CNC machining/programming (woodworking applications)
Experience operating 4-sided moulders / spindle moulders / high-speed profiling machines
Strong knowledge of timber species, machining tolerances, and finishes
Ability to set up tooling and optimise machine performance
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Strong awareness of WHS requirements in a manufacturing environment

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (depending on experience)
