## Roof Plumber
## Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Roof Plumber to join our team and deliver high-quality roofing and rainwater management solutions across residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of metal roofing systems, flashings, gutters, downpipes, and wall claddings to a professional standard. This role suits a trade-qualified professional who takes pride in their workmanship, works efficiently in a team environment, and is committed to meeting project timelines and safety requirements.
## Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, plans, and specifications to determine roofing system layouts, material requirements, and installation sequences
- Fabricate, cut, and shape metal roofing components, flashings, and related fittings to suit project specifications
- Install metal roofing systems, wall claddings, and associated fixtures in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and Australian Standards
- Supply and fit rainwater goods including gutters, downpipes, sumps, and overflows, ensuring correct fall and drainage performance
- Measure, mark, and cut sheet metal and other roofing materials with precision using hand tools and power equipment
- Apply weatherproofing, sealing, and flashing solutions around penetrations, ridges, valleys, and roof edges to prevent water ingress
- Inspect existing roofing systems to identify defects, deterioration, or damage, and carry out repairs or replacements as required
- Collaborate with other trades on-site, including builders, plumbers, and electricians, to coordinate work and maintain project schedules
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant building codes, WHS legislation, and site-specific safety requirements
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working order and manage on-site stock levels effectively
- Complete job documentation, including material records and handover notes, accurately and in a timely manner
## Required Qualifications & Skills
- Certificate III in Roof Plumbing (CPC32420) or equivalent trade qualification recognised in Australia
- Current and valid Roof Plumbing licence as required by the relevant state or territory authority
- Proven experience in the installation of metal roofing systems, rainwater goods, and flashings across residential or commercial projects
- Solid ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication equipment
- Sound understanding of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code as they apply to roof plumbing
- Strong working knowledge of WHS obligations and safe work practices on construction sites
- Valid White Card (General Construction Induction)
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Current driver's licence and reliable means of transport
## Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial roofing projects
- Knowledge of or experience with standing seam, Klip-Lok, or concealed-fix roofing systems
- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
- Working at Heights certification
- Experience operating elevated work platforms (EWP) or holding a relevant ticket
- Familiarity with heritage or specialised roofing materials such as copper, zinc, or lead
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leading hand capacity
