We are now seeking a qualified and experienced full-time Electrician to join our team in Perth, WA.
About the job:
- Interpret electrical plans, solar system designs, wiring diagrams and technical specifications to determine installation methods, sequencing of works, and compliance requirements for residential and commercial grid-connected solar PV systems.
- Measure and lay out installation reference points for solar panels, inverters, battery storage systems, switchboards, conduits and associated electrical equipment in accordance with project specifications and Australian Standards.
- Select, cut, terminate and connect electrical cables and wiring between solar panels, inverters, batteries, switchboards and distribution boards, ensuring safe and compliant electrical connections.
- Use specialised electrical testing and diagnostic equipment to identify faults, verify system performance, troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure the safe operation of solar PV and associated electrical systems.
- Repair, maintain and replace faulty wiring, electrical components and equipment, including inverters, isolators, circuit protection devices and other solar system components.
- Install, upgrade and connect electrical switchboards, distribution boards, circuit breakers and protective devices to support new solar PV installations and electrical system upgrades.
- Connect solar PV systems to the property's electrical supply and the electricity grid, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, network requirements and CEC guidelines.
- Conduct electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance and commissioning tests to verify safety and compliance.
- Install, configure and commission solar inverters, battery storage systems, energy monitoring devices and associated electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Install, test, commission and optimise grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including solar panels, inverters, battery storage systems and monitoring equipment.
To be successful in the role you will need to have:
- Relevant AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV with a minimum of 1 year of experience in similar roles. Alternatively, 3 years of experience can substitute the qualification.
- Experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and high-quality workmanship.
What we offer:
- Annual salary from $80,000 to $100,000 for 38 hours per week, plus superannuation
- Full-time permanent contract
