Cannington Veterinary Hospital | Full-Time Veterinary Nurse

About us:

Cannington Veterinary Hospital has offered personalised veterinary care to small companion animals since 1968. Our dedicated and experienced team provide professional care to cats and dogs along with a pet adoption service. Cannington will provide you with valuable experience in all facets of a small companion veterinary practice, backed by a supportive, friendly team.

The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis (or part-time basis – we are flexible for the right person!). We are looking for someone that is equally comfortable on reception or in theatre, who loves what they do.

We are also open to any casual or locum nurses who are looking for extra shifts while we are recruiting for our next super-star permanent team member.

Responsibilities will include:

Providing support to our veterinarians in all aspects of vet nursing
Provision of high standard patient and customer care
Maintaining the overall hygiene of the practice, including surgical areas and equipment
Assisting with reception and administration tasks as required

To be successful for this position, you will have:

Certificate IV qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse.
Previous experience as a Vet Nurse, with knowledge and understanding of veterinary nursing procedures would prove beneficial.
An empathetic, caring person that always advocates for their patients.
An eye for detail, a good work ethic and a willingness to keep learning and improving both themselves and the practice.
An ability to work well in a team and genuinely support the team
Initiative and good time management skills.
Must be available to work a rotating Saturday (1 in 4)
