About the role
The AvantCare Business Analyst & Product Specialist plays a key role in shaping, improving and representing the AvantCare product. The role partners with clients to understand their operational needs, challenge assumptions through consultative conversations, and help translate real-world requirements into practical, value-adding product features.
The position also monitors legislative and industry developments across NDIS, Support at Home, Medicare and other relevant sectors to ensure AvantCare remains compliant, current and competitive.
This role suits someone who takes ownership, drives outcomes, works collaboratively, and balances client needs with product direction, available resourcing and delivery timelines. Strong communication and presentation capabilities are essential, as the role includes product demonstrations, training and ongoing client engagement.
Business Analysis & Client Engagement
- Collaborate with clients to understand business objectives, processes and pain points, using a consultative approach to challenge assumptions and guide solution thinking.
- Document, interpret and validate requirements to support product development and configuration.
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and requirement reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
Product & Industry Insights
- Monitor legislative, policy and industry updates across NDIS, Support at Home and Medicare, assessing impacts and recommending product improvements.
- Work within the AvantCare team to prioritise enhancements aligned to strategy and client needs.
- Support continuous refinement of product documentation, processes and practices.
Product Demonstrations & Training
- Deliver engaging product demonstrations for prospective and existing clients.
- Provide training to client teams, ensuring clear and accurate explanations of product features and workflows.
- Communicate with professionalism and accuracy, reflecting the organisation’s client-service expectations .
Testing & Quality Support
- Provide clear inputs to the testing team to support the creation of effective test cases, ensuring coverage of acceptance criteria and real-world scenarios.
- Review test outcomes as required to ensure product changes meet functional expectations.
Standards, DevOps & Continuous Improvement
- Adhere to established DevOps processes, team working practices and documentation standards.
- Write high-quality user stories aligned with internal standards and acceptance-criteria expectations.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of user story templates, requirement-gathering processes and DevOps practices.
Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential:
- Experience in business analysis, consulting, product ownership or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of operational practices in regulated sectors such as disability, aged care or health.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into practical, usable solutions.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, testers and project managers.
Desirable:
- Relevant industry experience in NDIS, aged care, Support at Home, community services or health-related sectors.
- Experience with CRM, case management or workflow-driven platforms.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar systems.
- Experience supporting QA/testing activities or writing acceptance criteria.
