Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Motorcycle Mechanic to join our team and deliver high-quality mechanical services across a range of motorcycle makes and models. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining motorcycles to the highest standard of safety and performance. Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot faults across engine systems, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other mechanical and electrical components
Dismantle, remove, and assess engine assemblies and mechanical parts, identifying wear, damage, or defects and documenting findings accurately
Repair or replace faulty and worn components, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and industry safety standards
Reassemble engines and mechanical systems following repair, ensuring correct fitting, torque settings, and operational integrity
Carry out scheduled maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and engine tune-ups to maintain vehicle performance and regulatory compliance
Utilise computerised diagnostic tools and equipment to test, analyse, and calibrate mechanical and electronic systems both before and after repair
Conduct thorough road-worthiness inspections and, where authorised, issue compliance certificates or prepare detailed reports outlining work required to achieve road-worthiness
Refer to and interpret technical service manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer bulletins to guide repair and maintenance procedures
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment in accordance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements
Liaise with service advisors and customers to clearly communicate fault findings, repair requirements, and estimated timeframes
Keep accurate records of all services, repairs, parts used, and labour time in the workshop management system
Stay current with developments in motorcycle technology, including electric and hybrid systems, through ongoing training and professional development
Required Qualifications & Skills
Completed Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Motorcycles) or an equivalent recognised trade qualification
Proven hands-on experience as a Motorcycle Mechanic in a professional workshop setting
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a broad range of motorcycle makes and models, including road, off-road, and performance bikes
Sound working knowledge of engine systems, drive trains, fuel systems, braking systems, and electrical components
Experience using computerised diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical data
Solid understanding of workplace health and safety obligations relevant to a mechanical workshop environment
Strong attention to detail with a methodical and thorough approach to fault diagnosis and repair
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing workload effectively to meet workshop deadlines
Valid Australian driver's licence; motorcycle licence is highly regarded
Preferred Qualifications
Experience servicing electric or hybrid motorcycles and familiarity with associated high-voltage safety protocols
Manufacturer-specific training or certification from brands such as Honda, Yamaha, Ducati, BMW, or Harley-Davidson
Authorised Vehicle Examiner (AVE) accreditation or equivalent road-worthiness inspection certification
Experience with workshop management and job-tracking software systems
A current and valid motorcycle licence (car or motorcycle class)
