Director of Clinical Training

2 Years part-time contract (7 hours a week)

Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have thorough understanding of patient care in a private hospital and passionate about achieving excellent clinical outcomes?

About the role:

Reporting to the Director of Medical Services, the position is responsible for the operations of Medical Registrar Clinical Training Service (CTS) at Mount Hospital including overseeing the clinical instruction, and supervision of the junior medical workforce (registrars) in the clinical disciplines in which registrars are appointed.

Located near King’s Park, Mount Private Hospital is Western Australia’s leading private provider of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery supported by the largest private Critical Care Unit (CCU). While we’re at the heart of private cardiac services in our state, with 224 beds, we bring the same clinical excellence to other specialities such as orthopaedics, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and general surgery.

Mount Private Hospital is supported by a state executive team, our corporate services team and the Healthscope network.

Key responsibilities:

Manage the operation of the medical registrars’ clinical training service in conjunction with the Director of Medical Services with a dotted line to the General Manager in accordance with daily operational processes.
Responsibility for hospital, College (RACP) and/or PMCWA assessments if/as required (principally for those registrars rotating from FSH and RPH)
Co-ordinate and administer the teaching programs for registrars appointed to the Mount Hospital
Provide support to ensure that all relevant hospital-level accreditations including and not limited to ACHS accreditation, Post Graduate Medical Council WA accreditation, Department of Health Licensing, and other regulatory bodies as required

Attend and be an active participant in Mount Hospital's Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) meetings as and when scheduled
Maintain accreditation as a specialist medical practitioner at Mount Private Hospital in accordance with Healthscope's Bylaws.

Essential Criteria:

Hold registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with specialty qualifications, preferably in Cardiology
Have relevant post-graduate qualifications
