About Us

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

The NBMLHD Aboriginal Traineeship Program combines on‑the‑job experience with formal study delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), enabling trainees to complete a nationally recognised qualification while gaining practical skills. This program aligns with NSW Health’s Aboriginal Workforce Strategic Framework 2023–2026, which emphasises the importance of building a strong, skilled and culturally supported Aboriginal workforce across the health system.
