About the Role:
A dynamic leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Mental Health service within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network. This role is ideal for a motivated nursing leader who is passionate about driving high‑quality, patient‑centred care and shaping the future of service delivery.
This is an exciting opportunity for suitable applicants who will be provided with an opportunity to work in a challenging role, whilst being supported and working alongside another Nurse Manager and other professional management facilitators within the Division.
As a Nurse Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the division, ensuring the delivery of safe, compassionate and evidence‑based nursing care. Your expertise will support innovation, continuous improvement and excellence in clinical practice.
Key responsibilities include:
leading strategic planning and day‑to‑day operational management
mentoring and developing nursing staff to support professional growth and high performance
working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
overseeing quality assurance programs and ensuring compliance with standards and best practice
managing financial and human resources to ensure effective and efficient service delivery
fostering a positive, inclusive and supportive workplace culture
To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

Your strengths include highly developed communication, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills; strong problem‑solving ability and confidence managing competing priorities; demonstrated experience leading teams, managing change and supporting staff development; knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, codes of practice and quality improvement systems; and experience in project management and service development within a healthcare setting.

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
