We are seeking a structurally minded, hyper-focused Assistant Accountant to join our team in Perth. This is a multi-layered position that serves as a critical operational bridge within our Support & Operations team. In this role, you will transition beyond mundane data entry to become a true process owner. You will maintain absolute governance over our Accounts Receivable (AR) lifecycles, drive month-end timelines, and take direct charge of local corporate compliance (including ASIC), procurement workflows, and insurance renewals to shield executive leadership from administrative friction.
Your Responsibilities can include:
Accounts Receivable & Debtor Governance
- Supervise the end-to-end Agency Accounts Receivable pipeline, verifying that billing setups align perfectly with commercial client agreements.
- Act as the primary escalation point for debtor collection proactively managing client communication to preserve cashflow velocity.
- Own the end-to-end bank reconciliation workflow across all primary agency accounts, including resolving anomalies and leveraging automated bank-feed matching rules to accelerate ledger accuracy.
Financial Analysis & Income Forecasting
- Partner directly with the Accountant and Client Service team to update, maintain, and refine income take-up and income forecasting across clients and jobs.
- Monitor actual-vs-forecast revenue performance monthly, identifying discrepancies and prepping data insights for senior leadership reviews.
- Take full ownership of the agency’s client rate infrastructure, driving absolute data accuracy through proactive system updates and leading the financial setup to ensure seamless onboarding for all new clients.
Month-End & Year-End Compliance Leadership
- Own and drive allocated month-end reporting sequences, ensuring workpapers, transactions and reporting meets strict targets.
- Assume accountability for compiling, tracking, and submitting our Agency's ASIC reporting requirements and registry updates.
- Take charge of coordinating annual corporate insurance renewals and managing localised legal contract review workflows before executive sign-off.
- Prepare and organise essential end-of-financial-year (EOFY) compliance data and annual Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) workpapers.
Systems Championing & Automation Pilots
- Serve as the primary financial software systems expert (Accountability - counta.com) and super-user, taking absolute accountability for data workflows, reports, maintaining pristine Monday.com board structures, and optimising software integrations to guarantee 100% data integrity.

Experience & Qualifications:
- You hold a formal university degree in Accounting or Finance
- Actively undertaking or strictly committed to completing your ICAA/CPA qualification via independent, self-funded study pathways.
- Intermediate-to-advanced mastery of accounting management ecosystems is highly regarded.
