PJL is a specialised Underground Hard Rock Asset Maintenance and Supply Company that has been well-established since 2006, with its head office located in Leewood Drive, Orange NSW.
PJL supports the mining industry by providing asset hire, maintenance services, labour and project support, mechanical and engineering services along with the manufacture and sale of retail items including ground engaging tools.
About the Role
PJL are seeking a full time Fitter. Our Orange Mechanical team specialise in underground equipment and component rebuilds, refurbishment and repairs to the following: CAT, Sandvik, Epiroc Trucks, Loaders and Drills, and Normet, Volvo and Toyota ancillary equipment. Additionally, Allison, Dana, Spicer, CAT, Clark, Volvo and Kessler componentry repairs.
About You
- Relevant Certificate III or IV qualification is required, or alternatively at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Relevant high‑risk work licences or plant tickets (desirable)
- Current driver’s licence
- Ability to meet site medical and fitness‑for‑work requirements
- Commitment to complying with WHS, environmental, and quality systems
You will be Trades qualified and be involved in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing rebuilds and repairs on the above. Some key responsibilities include:
- Execute planned maintenance tasks in accordance with established schedules and work plans
- Inspect, service and maintain equipment, including specialised underground (UG) mining equipment
- Replace worn, broken or damaged components
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and failures
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues and carry out urgent and corrective repairs
- Conduct routine and ad-hoc inspections to identify wear, damage or potential equipment issues
- Use appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques to assess equipment condition
- Recommend proactive maintenance actions to prevent future failures and minimise downtime
