About the role

The Hospital Assistant supports the delivery of an efficient and effective cleaning and catering service to the patients and facilities within the Health Service.
Catering supports the delivery of an efficient and effective food service to the patients that meet or exceed the expected requirements and must be provided in accordance with the established standards and controls required by; Food Services, Ministry of Health (MoH) and Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) Food Safety policy and nutritional standards.
You will need to be reliable, punctual and energetic, physically fit, have a caring and supportive attitude and use your good communication skills to be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Remaining calm in emergencies and the capability to handle equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and other medical equipment is also valued. You will require a working with Children’s check or willingness to obtain
In a small, close knit team you will be well supported and your dedication will be seen and appreciated. You will be an integral member of the community and you’ll see not only the results of your care, but the appreciation of the community of the role you play in their health.
This position is managed by Downer on a day-to-day basis. You will have the ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays. The successful applicant will be physically based at Bloomfield, Orange Health Service, a part of the Western NSW Local Health District.
