Depot Hand / Bus Detailer

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
Position: Full-time
Apple City Tours is seeking a motivated, reliable and hands-on Depot Hand / Bus Detailer to join our Orange depot team.
This is a varied full-time role suited to someone who takes pride in keeping vehicles, depot grounds and work areas clean, safe and well maintained. The successful applicant will assist with bus washing and detailing, depot presentation, general yard duties, errands and basic maintenance support.
Duties will include:
- Washing and detailing buses
- Assisting the mechanic/workshop team where required
- Maintaining depot grounds, sheds and work areas
- Running local errands, including parts pick-ups and deliveries
- Keeping workshop and depot areas clean, tidy and safe
- Cleaning interior of buses (as needed)
- Completing basic handyman-style jobs around the depot
- Mowing and general yard maintenance
- Assisting with general maintenance tasks as directed
- Following workplace health and safety procedures
- Wearing required PPE and complying with company safety instructions
- Completing any other reasonable depot duties as required
Essential requirements:
- Current NSW Driver Licence — Class C minimum
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
- Physically capable of washing buses, cleaning, mowing and general depot duties
- Able to work independently and follow instructions
- Good attention to detail
- Safety-focused and willing to follow company procedures
- Able to maintain professional working relationships with drivers, workshop staff and administration staff
Desirable but not essential:
- Mechanical knowledge or interest
- Basic handyman or property maintenance skills
- Forklift licence
- Previous experience washing/detailing vehicles, buses, trucks or heavy vehicles
- WHS awareness or previous depot/workshop experience
This role would suit someone who is practical, reliable, hands-on and willing to assist wherever needed around a busy bus depot.
Drug and Alcohol / Transport Safety Employee Requirements
This role is considered a Transport Safety Employee position. The successful applicant will be required to comply with Apple City Tours’ Drug and Alcohol Policy, fitness-for-work requirements and all workplace health and safety procedures.
This may include pre-employment, random, reasonable cause and post-incident drug and alcohol testing. Employees must not attend work or perform duties while affected by drugs or alcohol and must report any health, medication or other issue that may affect their fitness for work.
Pay: $28.50 per hour
