PJL supports the mining industry by providing asset hire, maintenance services, labour and project support, mechanical and engineering services along with the manufacture and sale of retail items including ground engaging tools.
About the Role
PJL are seeking a full time Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team in our Orange NSW workshop.
Our Orange Mechanical team specialise in underground equipment and component rebuilds, refurbishment and repairs to the following:
CAT, Sandvik, Epiroc Trucks, Loaders and Drills, and Normet, Volvo and Toyota ancillary equipment. Additionally, Allison, Dana, Spicer, CAT, Clark, Volvo and Kessler componentry repairs.
You will hold the relevant Certificate III or IV qualification, or alternatively at least 3 years of relevant work experience and be involved in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing rebuilds and repairs on the above. Some key responsibilities include:
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel-powered underground mining and heavy mobile equipment.
- Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical faults in diesel engines, transmissions, braking, steering and hydraulic systems.
- Perform breakdown repairs and troubleshooting to minimise equipment downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Remove, repair and replace worn or damaged engine and mechanical components as required.
- Conduct testing and adjustments on repaired equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Use diagnostic tools and service information to identify faults and assess equipment performance.
- Complete routine inspections and report defects, maintenance requirements and recommended repairs.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records while complying with workplace health, safety and site procedures at all times.
