Clerk Grade 5/6, base salary ($102,936 - $113,579), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
This role leads and supervises a small team to meet statutory and administrative obligations while delivering high-quality, professional services to clients. It fosters a culture of ethical behaviour, accountability, and strong performance to support organisational objectives. The role involves effectively allocating resources and managing workflows to meet departmental requirements. Operating within a court registry, the position includes undertaking quasi-judicial and procedural functions in line with relevant legislation and practice standards.
Circuit and relieving staff are required to hold a current Driver Licence and be willing to travel extensively as part of their role, including continuous overnight stays for several weeks at a time.
What you’ll do
Supervise and support registry staff, allocating resources to ensure standards are met and high‑quality services are delivered to clients.
Implement procedures and training to build staff capability and ensure compliance with legislative and procedural requirements.
Provide informed advice and reporting to senior management, contributing to process improvements that enhance service delivery and efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement by supporting and implementing initiatives that strengthen work practices across the registry.
Promote an inclusive, safe, and respectful workplace that values diversity, supports wellbeing, and enables staff to adapt and perform across jurisdictions.
What we’re looking for
Leadership and team management: Effectively manage, develop, and motivate staff in a fast-paced, complex environment, ensuring performance and accountability.
Capability building and compliance: Implement targeted training and maintain staff knowledge of procedural and legislative changes to deliver accurate, high-quality client service.
Operational excellence and improvement: Balance day-to-day registry operations with contributing to projects that enhance efficiency and improve client outcomes.
Judgment and decision-making: Demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and integrity when performing quasi-judicial functions as a Registrar or Deputy Registrar.
