Crystalbrook Collection is preparing to open the doors to Crystalbrook Sam, our newest hotel in Adelaide and we are looking for an exceptional Head Chef to help define its culinary identity from the very beginning.

Reporting to our Executive Chef, you will lead the daily kitchen operation with confidence, care and commercial focus. You will inspire a talented culinary team, champion quality and consistency, and bring energy to menu development, supplier relationships, kitchen culture and the overall dining experience.

In this role, you will:

Lead and develop a high-performing kitchen team with clarity, warmth and accountability

Bring creativity and confidence to menu design, seasonal planning and dining concepts

Champion South Australian produce, local partnerships and sustainable kitchen practices

Deliver exceptional food quality, presentation and consistency across the operation

Build a positive kitchen culture where collaboration, pride and growth are part of every service

Manage food costs, labour, compliance, stock control and kitchen systems with commercial discipline

Work closely with hotel leadership to create experiences that are memorable, meaningful and uniquely Crystalbrook
About you
You are an experienced culinary leader who brings calm authority, genuine creativity and a strong sense of ownership. You understand the pace and precision of hotel operations, but you also know how to bring heart, personality and storytelling to the plate.
You will bring:

Proven experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef within a quality hotel, restaurant or premium dining environment

Strong leadership capability with the ability to coach, inspire and retain great people

A genuine passion for local produce, seasonal menus and elevated guest experiences

Solid commercial awareness across food cost, rostering, ordering and kitchen performance

Confidence in pre-opening environments, new concepts or building structure from the ground up

A collaborative approach and the ability to work closely with Food and Beverage, Events, Front Office and Hotel Leadership teams

A commitment to safety, compliance, sustainability and responsible kitchen practices
