Provide a high-quality occupational therapy service to clients with a variety of mental health care needs and their carers', to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for the clients of the service. Provide specialist skills in client assessment and care as part of a multi-disciplinary teamwork approach to the provision of high quality mental health care.
May be required to work a 7-day rotating roster and may include weekend work.
This position will transition to the new Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital
The Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital will comprise a 32-bed unit, that will include 4 Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre beds, 16 Acute Mental Health beds and 12 Mental Health Rehabilitation beds, delivering specialist inpatient assessment, treatment, stabilisation and recovery-focused care for adults across the Shoalhaven. This purpose-built Mental Health unit has been designed to support both voluntary and involuntary consumers, providing a modern therapeutic environment that promotes recovery, safety, dignity and family-inclusive practice. Importantly, these beds will form part of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Mental Health Services network bed structure, working in close partnership with Mental Health services across the broader District. With this networked approach ISLHD can ensure consumers have access to the most appropriate level of care throughout their recovery journey, while staff benefit from strong professional connections, collaborative models of care and opportunities for development across a diverse range of mental health settings.
