Position Title: Vehicle Painter

Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum + Superannuation

PB MOTORS (DARWIN) PTY LTD is a Darwin-based automotive business specialising in quality used vehicle sales, automotive repairs and vehicle reconditioning. The business is committed to maintaining high presentation standards for its vehicles and delivering quality workmanship across all repair and refinishing operations.

An opportunity is available for a skilled Vehicle Painter to join the business’s automotive repair and reconditioning operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Preparing used and repaired vehicles for painting and refinishing work;
Sanding, masking, cleaning and priming vehicle surfaces prior to paint application;
Mixing and colour matching paints to achieve consistent vehicle finishes;
Applying primers, base coats and finishing coats using spray-painting equipment and tools;
Refinishing repaired panels and restoring vehicle appearance to a high presentation standard;
Buffing, polishing and finishing painted surfaces to ensure quality workmanship;
Identifying and rectifying paint defects, imperfections and surface irregularities;
Maintaining spray booths, painting equipment and workshop tools in safe working condition;
Working closely with panel beaters and workshop personnel to meet operational deadlines and vehicle preparation requirements;
Following workplace health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean work environment at all times.

Skills and Experience Required

Minimum Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology or equivalent qualification preferred;
Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience required;
Applicants without formal qualifications may be considered where they possess substantial relevant industry experience;
Knowledge of automotive paint systems, preparation methods and refinishing techniques;
Strong attention to detail and finish quality;
Ability to work independently and within a team environment;
Good organisational and time management skills;
Current driver licence preferred.
