Primary objective
Assist with the administration, support and continuous improvement of spatial applications and services within NT Land
Information Systems, ensuring secure, reliable and high-quality spatial data delivery in accordance with spatial data
governance frameworks and organisational objectives.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Configure and support spatial applications and associated data services within the NT Land Information System (NTLIS)
to ensure system availability, performance, security and data integrity.
2. Coordinate system changes with stakeholders and service providers, ensuring documentation, and testing and change
management processes are followed.
3. Assist to implement and maintain spatial data management practices, including metadata standards, data quality
assurance, version control, access controls and compliance with governance frameworks.
4. Provide technical advice and support to internal and external users, liaise with data custodians and business stakeholders
to identify opportunities for process improvement to spatial workflows and services.
5. Contribute to system optimisation activities, including automation, performance monitoring and standardisation of spatial
environments.
6. Deliver user training to build capability and promote effective use of spatial applications and services.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated contemporary experience in the configuration, administration and support of geospatial applications and
web mapping technologies.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of spatial data management principles, including data quality, metadata standards, governance,
security and lifecycle management.
3. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience troubleshooting spatial applications, databases
and data-related issues.
4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build productive working relationships with technical and non-
technical stakeholders.
5. Ability to deliver effective end-user support and training, including preparation of user guides and technical
documentation.
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute to continuous improvement
and innovation initiatives.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in a field closely related to the duties of the position, (e.g. cartography, surveying, applied geography,
GIS).
