Primary objective
To provide advice and services to administer the compliance of the land survey statutory, administrative, and technical
requirements for land developments, as well as the integrity of the land titling (tenure) system; and including the maintenance
of survey land records/data in land or survey information systems and databases.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provision of quality and timely land survey advice and services pertaining to the approval of survey plans or data, the
land development and titling process, as well as associated legislation, policies, standards, practices, and guidelines.
2. Preparation of land survey reports, technical descriptions, survey plans or certified maps, and relevant geospatial
information to facilitate the registration or disposal of land, and to support informed decision-making, associated with
government land interests, administration, or legal proceedings.
3. Maintenance of the integrity of land survey records, information and plans using survey geospatial applications, spatial
databases and / or integrated systems.
4. Actively participate in the Survey Land Records team, related project activities, relevant industry working groups, and
assist with the development and mentoring of the work unit’s Land Information Officers.
5. Maintain collaborative partnerships with clients and stakeholders to ensure service delivery is of a high standard and
meets their needs and expectations, and the effective implementation of work improvement initiatives and policies.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven knowledge and technical capability, as well as experience, in either land administration, surveying, or geospatial
information management.
2. Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance of information (land survey or similar) with statutory or regulatory
requirements associated with land use planning, land tenure and titling, administration, and the development of land.
3. Knowledge and experience with legislation, policies, standards, practices, and guidelines associated with land surveying,
land titling, land administration, and their practical implementation.
4. Experience with maintaining land survey (or similar) related spatial information / data / records in survey geospatial
applications, integrated systems, or databases.
5. Developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively as a team member;
and with people of diverse cultures; various professional, technical, or administrative backgrounds.
6. Established time management skills; includes the ability to plan, implement and report on a diverse range of activities in
an environment requiring multi-tasking and adherence to deadlines.
7. Knowledge and awareness of contemporary political, social, economic, and technical issues that impact land surveying,
land administration and geospatial information management.
Desirable
1. Relevant qualification in in Land Administration or Management, Surveying, Geospatial Sciences, or a similar discipline.
