Primary objective
Deliver high quality, culturally appropriate and effective diagnostic audiology services with NT Hearing through NT Health.
Context statement
NT Hearing provides audiology services in urban, regional and remote settings.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide timely, clinically and culturally appropriate Audiology services under minimal supervision within a multidisciplinary
framework.
2. Provide feedback to senior staff and management on program and clinical issues.
3. Provide clinical/professional supervision and/or support to students and relevant staff
4. Prioritise and manage a caseload within a dynamic and evolving work environment to ensure timelines and health outcomes
are met.
5. Co-ordinate and/or contribute to continuous quality improvement and service development activities at a local or regional level
to ensure delivery of contemporary Audiology services.
6. Contribute to the achievement of work unit goals and key performance indicators.
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Relevant qualifications in Audiology that meets membership eligibility requirements of the relevant professional association.
2. Post graduate experience in providing contemporary high level clinical Audiology services to patients and families/carers.
3. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experience in working effectively with patients
and families/carers of diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
4. Well-developed communication, interpersonal skills, negotiation and conflict management skills, with experience working in a
team environment to achieve positive health outcomes.
5. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision of students and/or staff and a commitment to professional development.
6. Proven ability to implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.
7. Proven ability to efficiently and effectively manage a high volume workload.
Desirable
1. Post-graduate qualifications or experience in clinical education, leadership / management or speciality practice area.

This role carries specific immunisation requirements. For immunisation requirements - Category A (direct contact with blood or
body substances) or Category B (indirect contact with blood or body substances) - check with contact person.
- This successful applicant will be required to travel to remote communities in light aircraft or by 4WD for up to 5 days at a time.
