The Role

Applications are invited for the position of Business Intelligence Developer.

The position plays a key role in supporting the development and operation of the Enterprise Data Office’s modern analytics platform by building lakehouse-aligned data assets, supporting the transition from IBM Cognos to Microsoft Fabric, and preparing curated datasets and Power BI semantic models aligned to approved business definitions.

Working under the guidance of senior data engineers and within established standards, the position contributes to the delivery of data pipelines, semantic models and data product components across the Bronze, Silver and Gold layers, ensuring outputs are reliable, traceable and fit for governed reporting and decision-making.

The Person

You bring capability in applying SQL and Python to build and maintain data transformations that support lakehouse ingestion, curation and analytics delivery, working within established engineering patterns.

You will be able to contribute to metadata structures, data models and documentation standards that support reliable, well-understood data assets, and apply data quality, profiling and governance practices to improve the accuracy and consistency of data outputs. You can analyse data and translate business requirements into technical tasks, seeking guidance from senior engineers where needed, and work collaboratively with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams within established engineering patterns, governance controls and security standards.

Experience contributing to Power BI semantic models and curated datasets aligned to approved business definitions is highly regarded.
