Senior Environmental Consultant
RPS has an opportunity within our Environment Planning and Management (EPM) team for an experienced Senior/ Environmental Consultant, based in Perth.
This role will contribute to our team of environmental scientists, botanists, and GIS experts to deliver environmental impact assessment and approvals, with a strong focus on preparing environmental impact assessment documents in accordance with the requirements of State and federal legislation.
We are seeking an experienced environmental professional with diverse environmental approvals and compliance delivery experience. You will assist or lead in delivering approvals for renewables, land development, infrastructure, basic raw materials and tourism projects. You will have previous project experience and have a good understanding and knowledge of State and Commonwealth legislation, and in providing strategic project advice to your clients.
This role will suit a person with strong communication skills and problem-solving ability, together with experience in the full-stage delivery of EIA approvals, with emerging or established relationships with regulatory authorities (EPA, DWER, DBCA, DCCEEW etc.).
In this role, you will be working with like-minded top professionals and recognised industry leaders, delivering strategic environmental assessments on some of the States’ most exciting and iconic projects with sustainability as a key focus.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Technically contributing to projects, including providing advice and preparing high quality impact assessment and regulatory approval documentation

Coordinating with our Water, Earth Science, Marine, Project Development and Advisory teams

Undertake due diligence investigations, environmental management plans, environmental risk assessments

Project management and coordination

Preparing proposals

Working alongside our senior leaders to identify new business opportunities and assisting with maintaining and developing our client base.
Who you are:
You will hold a tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related field and have:
- Project advocacy skills

3 - 5+ years professional experience, working in a similar role

Client-facing and management skills with a focus on client satisfaction and repeat work

Highly developed written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of Commonwealth and WA Legislation and processes

Well-developed skills in the coordination of multidisciplinary studies

Established consulting, regulatory, land development and infrastructure networks will be highly regarded.
